Over the weekend, I upgraded my system to the latest version of macOS - 15.1 - and the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud apps - 25.0. Everything is running fine on my system after the upgrade. In checking the web, I'm not seeing any significant concerns about macOS 15.1 for media creators. It's probably safe to upgrade.
Thinking of upgrading, I bought a 2024 M4 Pro Mac mini yesterday. Here's why I bought it, what I bought, and how I configured it.

One of the benefits of talking with folks the NAB Show was it gave me a sense of what they were watching, what concerned them, and what trends they felt were important. Last week, I presented a video on what made them optimistic about media today. This week, I present the key trends and markets they are watching.

Story-telling is as old as time, yet there is always something new to learn. New styles appear, old fashions seem dated. The "new" is worshipped, the old is either venerated or derided. Nothing new there. Change is constant - yet, somehow, reassuring. Nothing stays the same - including us.
Émile Coué de la Châtaigneraie was a French psychologist who, in 1921, coined the mantra: "Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better." It sparked a self-help craze in Britain that transfixed the public and echoes today in our world. If you think about it, the only person we can actually control is ourselves and how we react to the world around us. There's certainly no shortage of stress today. We can let it overwhelm us - or take a deep breath and let it wash over us by focusing on what we do. We are story-tellers. We tell stories that make the world better - or worse. Which we choose is up to us.
Tomorrow is important - please vote. Until next week, stay safe, stay hopeful and edit well.
