Last week's webinar - The Fairlight Audio Page in DaVinci Resolve 19 - had hundreds of viewers! It covered the Fairlight interface, audio editing, audio repair, audio levels, audio mixing and a wide variety of shortcuts. (I'll cover the Color page later this month.)
As Trevor wrote: “I’ve been learning Fairlight for some months and I like to say you present it so well. Easy to listen to and well explained. WELL DONE Larry! Kind regards.” Buy it today and save 25%!

My goal is to present the last webinar in my series on DaVinci Resolve either the last week of October or the first week of November. But getting caught up on NAB editing take priority. I'll keep you informed via this newsletter when I can set a date.
Here are all the current NAB - NYC interviews:
What I like most about doing interviews is that it gives me a chance to ask questions that I'm wondering about from folks that tend to know the answers. What became clear is that the world of production is shifting from the high-end of broadcast, into the equally demanding - but different - world of online media. In many cases, the tools are the same, the need for fast-turnaround with high-quality is the same, but the processes and people are different.
By way of comparison, I also got a "behind-the-scenes tour" of the new production facilities Disney is building for ABC in New York. This multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art facility is unparalleled on the planet - and won't be fully on line for a few months yet. But the purpose is the same - telling compelling stories, on-time and on-budget.
As Bob Caniglia, of Blackmagic Design, said: "The tools are the same whether you are doing a high-school production or the next feature-length blockbuster. It's what you do with them that makes the difference."
It was a fascinating week that I'm looking forward to sharing with you. Until next Monday, stay safe, stay hopeful and edit well.
