Six new articles for you today - including a multi-part series on HDR video and a new product review.

While the university school year is in full-swing, the seniors are already  thinking about jobs after graduation. In talking with them, I realized they need to learn a lot more about marketing which is essential to getting a job today. This led me to write a blog this week on marketing and how it differs from sales. You'll find it as my lead story this week and, as always, I'm interested in your opinion. Feel free to share this with your friends - this applies to us free-lancers as much or more than students.

We had a great webinar last week. I first called it "Simple Things," but after the 9 AM show, Rachel Strickland wrote to say: "Many thanks for today's webinar, Larry. I learned many valuable details and took copious notes. You kept me utterly captivated for the entire session. However, I do believe that the title 'Simple Things' is a bit misleading. Something like 'Pithy Tips' seems more accurate to me."

So, I changed the name to: "Simple Tricks & Pithy Tips for Premiere Pro CC." You'll find all the details below. It was a fun session!

Also, I've rescheduled the "Simple Things for Final Cut Pro X" to Wednesday next week. I'm traveling this week doing some corporate training, so I moved it to the first available Wednesday. Be sure to sign up - you'll learn a lot. As always, registration is free.

Last week on the Digital Production Buzz we were talking with writers about writing. Scripts, non-scripted shows, webisodes, video games, plays, children's books, journalism - we covered the waterfront. It was a fun show and a subject we don't talk about enough. Be sure to listen.

The rains have stopped in southern California - at least for a day or two. It is nice to see the sun again - we are setting records for rainfall after five years of severe drought. Oh well, I'm sure everything will balance out over time. I'm heading out to celebrate the sunshine. Talk with you next week - in the meantime, edit well.
