American Cancer Society's Coaches vs. Cancer Las Vegas Golf Classic 2022 E-Update
April 2022 l Issue No. 5
Dear CvC Teammates,

It’s hard to believe we’ve been a part of the Las Vegas Golf Classic since its inception 15 years ago. We’ve made so many memories over the years while striving towards our mission - to defeat cancer.

Thank you to Lon Kruger and all the coaches who make this event possible each year. Keep using your platforms to help others and thank you for letting sponsors and participants like us share that platform with you.
While the event started with fewer than 15 foursomes and has grown to over 80, the Classic still has a family reunion feel to it and we get inspired every time we are around this team. Thank you to all involved in this fight against cancer. It’s a fight we must stay in until the end. We’ll see you in Las Vegas soon.

(Derek Thompson and his wife, Christin, have been sponsors of the Las Vegas Golf Classic for the past eight years. In 2019, the Thompsons donated an additional $50,000 to the event in honor of Terry O’Bryan, Lon’s sister, who had recently passed away.)

Support for Hole Hero, Sixth Man sponsors is key
Maui Babe, National Basketball Retired Players Association join effort
There is still time for you to be a “Hole Hero” at the 2022 Coaches vs. Cancer Las Vegas Golf Classic presented by Sanford Health. The program allows participants to honor a loved one who has passed away from cancer, is being treated for cancer or is a survivor.

Growing sponsorships - such as Sixth Man and Hole Hero - are key to the Classic raising funds for the American Cancer Society. This year, Maui Babe and the National Basketball Retired Players Association have joined the roster as new “Sixth Man” sponsors.
"Hole Hero" sponsorships are $5,000 and will include signage on the course, exposure in e-newsletters and special recognition during LV Golf Classic events. Underwriters - who are also golfing in the event - will receive an additional free round of golf for four at either Southern Highlands Golf Club, DragonRidge Country Club of Reflection Bay Golf Club in the Las Vegas valley. If you or someone you know is interested in more information about the program or wants to renew from last year, please contact Lon Kruger at [email protected] or Bridget Byrne at [email protected].
