Hello Glastonbury!

Can you believe it’s September already? And this means it is time for one of my favorite “Librarian holidays” – Library Card Sign-up Month! This national celebration highlights the fact that citizens across the country have free access to information, technology, and community at their libraries. Not only does your WTML card grant you access to the physical and digital collections in Glastonbury, but it also grants you access to the nearly 200 other public libraries across the State. Even better? Libraries are adding new (and unexpected) things to their collections every day! What do we lend at WTML that you might not expect? Museum PassesBoard GamesTelescopes. Digital newspaper subscriptions (NYT, Wall St. Journal, and MORE). Digital Magazine subscriptions (on Libby, PressReader, and through a new service, Flipster, coming later this month). ConcertsLanguage LessonsArt ClassesHomeSchool lesson plansElectricity Usage Monitors. (To name a few!)

Many people have said that your library card is the most valuable card in your wallet – and looking at that list, I’d agree! Celebrate your Library Card this month by borrowing something new… and support your library by encouraging your neighbors to register for a free card, too.

Happy reading,

Amy
