2020 Château de la Terrière Brouilly Tradition - $29.99
The Château de la Terrière has stood in Cercié since the 14th century and is one of the oldest estates in the region. Located in the heart of historic Beaujolais, facing Mont Brouilly, the property and its 50 year old Gamay vines spread southwards over a volcanic hill on pink granite, making the wines more delicate and nuanced than most of the wines in Brouilly that are planted on sandy soils. Strawberries, raspberries and violets in the glass leave me hopeful for more sunlight ahead and spring's return.

2021 Bethel Heights Estate Pinot Noir - $38.99
The estate Pinot Noir from Bethel Heights offers a snapshot of the greatest the winery has to offer. It is a blend of a few single vineyard Pinot Noir sites in various amounts from some vines as old as the 1970s. The 2021 vintage is as delicious as it's ever been, delivering easy drinkability right out of the gate. The wine shows dark cherry fruit and baking spice on the nose and the medium bodied palate has notes of raspberry and forest floor. Try this Pinot with crispy skin salmon or shepherd's pie.

2017 Sapa de Otro Pozo Red Blend Mendoza Argentina - $39.99
No beating around the bush, this unconventional Malbec/ Syrah/ Cab Franc is a full-bodied extracted bombshell loaded with oak spice and plummy fruit. Sometimes subtlety is overrated. This velvet pillow of a wine has well integrated tannin propping up a cornucopia of ultra ripe fruit and is my choice to combat a damp, chilly and melty winter day.

Barrell Seagrass Rye - $89.99
On a recent trip to an area speakeasy, Barrell Seagrass happened to be part of a rye whiskey flight I tried. A creamy and pleasant sweetness is overlaid with pleasant, yet not overbearing, rye spice. At 118 proof, the flavor is certainly bold, but in a complex way that everyone, experienced whiskey drinkers and not, can appreciate. Both the robust flavor and the price make this a drink to be sipped, not mixed, but enjoy it in any way you see fit.
