·   Even if you have ZERO Masterpoints, you are eligible to play in the 299er pairs. BAND Online's 299er Game is the perfect place to jump into RELAXED duplicate online games. If you are closer to ZERO masterpoints, you will be in the lowest division for masterpoint awards. You must be an active ACBL Member to play in the 499er and 299er pairs.



·   A special invite to the players who have crossed over 500 masterpoints and are wondering if you are ready to play in the BAND Online Open game. The Open game is stratified 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 (average masterpoints) so if you are closer to 500 than 5000, you will be in the lowest division for masterpoint awards. Yes. The competition is more challenging, but either you win or you learn something new. It's a Win-Win! And, Yes! The Open players Choose Bridge Kindness too! #CBK

·   Open Players ~ Remember, your game's masterpoints are based on the total number of tables including the 499er and 299er games. This means when the total number of tables hits 25 ~ the Open masterpoint awards are maximized. In other words, if you play in a 3 table open event with 22 tables of limited games, you get the same overall award as playing in a 25 table open event. And ~ it is easier to win with fewer pairs.

Each month we have a special BIRTHDAY Free Play Day to recognize BAND Online Members with birthdays in that month.

• If you play in a BAND Online game on the Birthday Game Day ~ then your entry fee for one game will be returned to your BBO$ account at the beginning of the month.
• You must be a BAND Online Member by midnight the day before Birthday Free Play Day to enjoy the free play.

The Weekly Contests are based on "Local Points" in each Division. This is a European method of tracking the more consistent players, rather than the lucky ones. The way it works is that every pair is awarded "Local Points" starting with the last pair receiving 2 points, the next pair up receiving 4 points and so on. This gives more weigh tot attendance and to those who consistently place in the top half of the field, rather than those who finish on top. 1st place winners receive BB$ prize at the end of the month.

The primary strategy in this type of contest is to play hard until the last board since every place awards some number of "Local Points". No more shooting the moon at the end of the game in an attempt to "win it all" and risking dropping to the bottom of the list.

The Quarterly Contests are based on Local Points and Attendance. Each 1st place winner receives up to 5 Free $6 games in the month following the quarter's end.

Weekly BB$ 1st place Prize Winners and Quarterly Leaderboards are published in the BAND Online Weekly E-Letter and on www.BANDOnlineBridge.com on Sunday. The BAND Online Team looks forward to seeing your name in "lights" in the near future.

If a BAND Online Member achieves a new rank and then plays in a BAND Online game on the New Rankers' Day the $6 entry fee for one game will be returned to the New Ranker's BBO$ account at the beginning of the month. You must be a BAND Online Member and on the list to participate.
