On Saturday, February 8, the W$D Committee will hold our annual Planning Retreat. This year, the first hour will be devoted to hearing from our membership about what priorities YOU want to see the committee pursue in the next two years.

Our current projects include Public Banking Advocacy, Feminist Economic Literacy, Challenging Corporate Power, and Monetary Reform. Learn more on our webpage, here.

But there are so many other needs and issues that relate to women’s rights, monetary fairness, and protecting our democracy … that we might tackle if we have the passion and capacity! Possible issues might include bail reform, equitable housing solutions, national healthcare, tax-funded day care for families, library protection, state and national Departments of Consumer Rights protection, tax reform, participatory budgeting initiatives, opposition to further consolidation of media, and reinstatiment of the Fairness Doctrine.

You probably can think of many others.

Where would YOU like to see our committee put our efforts?

And which ones would you be willing to help lead on?

Bring your ideas and join us for our one-hour listening session.

Your input will help guide our strategies as we continue to meet over the next three hours in our Committee Planning Retreat.

Thanks very much

Marybeth Gardam Chair, W$D Committee
