Never-before-seen school transparency

focus of inaugural Lunch and Learn this Thursday

Time soon is running out to register for the inaugural Fourth Thursday Lunch and Learn presented by the Oklahoma Statewide Charter School Board on the topic of "The Power of the Public Record: Discovering the Data Defining Your School." To be held THIS THURSDAY, Jul 24, as a one-hour, online event at noon, the Lunch and Learn will inform school board members, school leaders, and others about the latest performance, demographics, and financial public data that exists for Oklahoma charter schools and traditional schools.

The event will include unpacking the interactive 2024 Oklahoma Charter Schools Report/dashboard AND an interactive data dashboard on ALL public schools facilitated by the Oklahoma Public School Resource Center and just made public on July 16. Both dashboards reveal the full scope of publicly available data on individual schools and take transparency to a never-before-seen level.

Participants will be shown how they can access, explore, and interpret with confidence the data dashboards and crosswalk it with data that many Oklahoma schools release to their boards and the public. The State Department of Education has approved the presentation for one-hour training credit in Ethics for school board members.

Registration is required but is free. Registration closes at 5 pm tomorrow, July 23.
