A Kindly and Important Reminder from
the GREENWICH POLICE DEPT.
Participants and spectators in the Old Greenwich Memorial Day Parade, Monday, May 27 must remember the following:
Per Connecticut State Statute, ALL children 15 years of age and under shall wear protective headgear while operating a bicycle on any roadway... This includes children riding in BOX BIKES.
In addition, civic groups are asked to refrain from throwing candy or anything onto the roadway, along the parade route.
The parade steps off at 10 a.m., south of the village. ENJOY THE PARADE!

Jim Fixx Memorial Day
Running Races
Monday, May 27 is the date of the 55th running of the Jim Fixx Memorial Day running races. The five mile race begins at 8:15 a.m. on Greenwich Avenue by Elm Street. The Kids 1/2 mile run will be held on the track at Havemeyer Field behind Town Hall starting about 9:15 a.m. Download the

Your Proof of Residency Must be Updated Prior to Registering!!
Online
registration is only available to Greenwich residents. Greenwich residents are required to provide proof of residency once per calendar year for all Parks and Recreation programs.
Kamp Kairphree
is for children ages 5-12, and it operates out of the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center in Old Greenwich. There are four two-week sessions, beginning June 24.
Summer Adventurers,
for ages 8-15, operates out of the Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center in Glenville. Only Section A1 for ages 8-10 is still available. This day camp begins June 25 and has one special field trip per week.
Music, Art and Dance Camp
is for children entering grades 4-9. Music and Art will have an afternoon Dance option in summer 2019! To enroll in afternoon Art or Dance, one must also be enrolled in morning Art or Music. The program runs July 1 - August 2.
The "Big Three" day camps will each require a
Camp Health Exam
form to be completed.

Summer Swim Lessons
will be held for youth from ages four and up at the Greenwich Pool in Byram Park. Eight, one-half hour group lessons will be held on Mondays through Thursdays with a rain date of Friday, for two consecutive weeks. Register for classes running July 8-18, July 22 - August 1, and August 5-15.

Summer Sports
Summer Baseball will be held for ages 6 through 12. There are three divisions. Ages 6 & 7 and 8 & 9 are co-ed; whereas, ages 10-12 is for boys.
In cooperation with
Soccer Extreme, we are offering
Summer Clinics for youth ages 4-12. Ages 4 and 5 play from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and ages 6-12 play from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. There will be two week-long sessions the week of June 24 - 28 and the week of August 5 - 9. Register for one or both weeks!
Adults who already know how to play pickleball can register for our

Start Smart Sports
Start Smart Sports Program is a developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for ages 3-5. The program prepares children and their parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. It will take place at Byram Park on Tuesday mornings in the summer; register
online now or by mail beginning June 3.

Greenwich Skatepark
From now through August, the Skatepark is open weekdays from 3:30 - 7 p.m. and weekends 12:30 - 7 p.m. The park will be closed Saturday, May 25 for the Town Party and Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. Download a schedule of

Dorothy Hamill Indoor Turf
Looking for a place to hold a sports practice or birthday party? The Dorothy Hamill Rink is available for
indoor turf rentals now through mid-August by reservation. The turf can be used for lacrosse, soccer, whiffle ball, flag football, T-ball, and more. If you are interested, please
email. The rate is $65 per hour through June 30 and $50 per hour after July 1.
Cos Cob Community Preschool
Registration is open for the
Cos Cob Community Preschool 2019-2020 year. Classes are held Monday-Friday, and will operate for a longer day from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 54 Bible Street in Cos Cob. The Preschool is licensed by the State of CT and is reasonably priced. For information,

Greenwich Farmers' Market
The
Greenwich Farmers' Market opens for the season on Saturday, May 18 at the commuter parking lot on the corner of Arch Street and Horseneck Lane. The market will be held on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Remember to bring your reusable shopping bags.
Commuters, do not park in the first several rows adjacent to Arch Street on Saturday mornings!

National Alliance for Youth Sports
Greenwich Recreation is a member organization of
NAYS. We provide free training through the NAYS website to our staff and volunteers and any resident interested in learning how to make sports better for youth. For their latest news and updates,

Scholarships for Youth
The Parks and Recreation Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to income eligible resident families for participation in youth activities.
Scholarship applications must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the start of the program.

Eastern Greenwich Civic Center
The EGCC has several on-going programs including
Greenwich Archery, Green Moon Children's Art Studio, Wednesday Painters, fitness classes, and Friday night roller skating. Roller skating will be held May 24 and 31 from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 and includes skates. Call 203-637-4583 for open gym hours.

Bendheim Western Civic Center
Co-ed Adult Volleyball is available on a drop-in basis on Thursday evenings from 7 - 9 p.m.
Yoga classes and
Zumba classes are offered on several weekdays at varying times.
Boot Camp sessions are available Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Pickleball is offered for adults on a drop-in basis.

Griffith E. Harris Golf Course
Pro Joe Felder is starting his 30th season at "The Griff". He has developed a very active teaching program, from juniors and beginners to low handicappers and champions. The two additional teaching professionals are Patrick Massi and Alex Bardani. Patrick is an accomplished PGA professional and a US Kids certified instructor. Alex is also a PGA professional and certified US Kids instructor. They have a launch monitor to fit you for clubs and improve your game. The shop is stocked with the newest equipment and apparel. They have demo clubs for you to try before you buy, with price matching guaranteed. Plus, there is a new battery pull cart that is available for rent or purchase.
Joe Felder's 30th Annual Junior Clinic will be held the end of May. The Men's Town Tournament will be held June 22 & 23, the Ladies Town Tournament will be June 24 and the Junior Town Tournament will be July 17. For more information call 203-531-7261 or

Credit & Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.

Parks and Recreation Foundation
The
Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 509 (a)(1).
