The Art of the Brick ends january 29

Time is running out to experience the Fleet's current traveling exhibition, The Art of the Brick. The exhibition features over 100 mind-bending sculptures, including abstract images, human forms and famous works of art--all made out of LEGO bricks. Get your tickets now! January 29 is the last day to see it. 
If you love art as much as you love science, the Fleet is partnering with the San Diego Museum of Art for a membership exchange January 5-31. Your Fleet membership card will get you access to all of SDMA's galleries, including their current special exhibition, Louis Kahn: The Power of Architecture.
Learn the secret science of toys

Some of the simplest toys, such as tops and yo-yos, have amazing science behind them. Join us on Saturday, January 21, for  The Secret Science of Toys FestivalWe'll explore ten different toys and divulge their secrets. Play and learn what makes toys spin, wobble and flip! The Secret Science of Toys Festival is included with admission to the Fleet.
Make New Creations With 3D Printing

Watch as your very own toys, mementos and structures are created right before your eyes. In the Fleet's 3D Printing Workshop you'll learn how to use Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) techniques to design your own creation--then let the 3D printer do the rest. This three-part workshop is suitable for ages 7 to 107. The first class is Sunday, January 15. 
You're inviteD to the High Tech fair
The Fleet's High Tech Fair aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers! We're bringing local companies together to showcase technology and related careers so that students in grades 7-12 can experience real-life applications for the science they learn in the class room. The event is free and open to students, parents and teachers on Wednesday, January 25, from 5-8 p.m. at the Balboa Park Activity Center.

Saturday science club for girls

Have you ever played a piano with bananas or used Play-Doh to control your Mario game? Learn how to turn everyday items into touchpads using the Makey Makey. Girls in grades 5-8 can join us the second Saturday of every month to solve new challenges, dive into hands-on activities and meet with local women scientists with major girl power. The next session is Saturday, January 14.
