Marissa, 19 years old, experienced her first seizure when she was nine months old.
She has been seizure free for ten months.
Marissa is currently enrolled in college, taking online classes. "
I do not like having seizures. Like everyone else, I want to be seizure-free. In high school, I won a poetry contest for writing
To Be Free, a poem about Epilepsy."
To Be Free
I see tiny dots, blue,
and orange spots and dots.
I am falling, falling, falling
magic sprinkles Depakote
sliding down my thirsty throat
No more spots
gone the dots.
Epilepsy's not my friend
Oh how I wish I could send
the seizures far away from me
then forever I'll be free.
Stroll with Marissa and EFNC on May 16th at Six Flags to fight epilepsy.
