What's happening at Downingtown Library?
After a tough year adjusting to so many changes wrought by COVID-19, Downingtown Library patrons have come back in droves, raring to use the library as they did pre-pandemic!

We were so honored to be able to continue serving everyone with virtual programs and services and contactless holds pickup when we had to remain closed during the height of pandemic, but are THRILLED to announce, if you haven't heard yet, that we are completely re-opened with all services restored! Please see what's been happening at the Downingtown Library below! To learn even more, please visit www.downingtownlibrary.org
Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and support through these recent times when the Downingtown Library has had to adapt, evolve, and grow through sometimes challenging circumstances. We are so appreciative!

Congratulations to our wonderful teen volunteer Gianna Kopec for her submission, "The Downingtown Library Bird Garden," which placed 2nd in the Longwood Gardens Community Read Take Flight Bird Garden STEAM contest!!

Gianna designed a beautiful garden that she and her family have already started installing along the library building near the staff parking lot, with the goal of attracting birds to the area. Thank you to Longwood Gardens for a $500 contribution to complete this project, all thanks to Gianna's placing in this highly competitive competition!

Thank you so much to Gianna for her ingenuity, creativity, and incredible hard work! Thank you, too, to former Adult and Teen Services Coordinator Karen Smith, who helped Gianna apply, and current Coordinator Lindsey Feist, who continues to assist Gianna on this project! Finally, thank you also to Valley Garden Club who have helped prepare the garden area by removing poison ivy!
