The Last Look Report

Stocks prices opened higher after the latest Consumer Price Index was higher than expected and there was chatter about replacing Jerome Powell at the Chair of the Federal Reserve.

Those early gains have since slipped through investors' fingers and they indices are now flat or in negative territory heading into the TSP trade deadline.

The S&P 500 is trading near even for the day. Meanwhile, the DWCPF (S-fund) holds a morning loss of 0.5% after opening higher.

Bond prices are declining alongside stocks. The bond ETF BND (F-fund) holds a 0.3% into the deadline.

TSP Talk AutoTracker Members

Nine AutoTracker members made IFTs today, including three from the top 50.

There’s no clear consensus among the group, but on average, their moves reflect a 29-percentage point increase in G-fund allocations and a 24-percentage point reduction in C-fund exposure—suggesting a cautious tilt away from large-cap stocks.

Top 50 Member IFTs:

rayald (5) left their C and S-fund holdings to move to 100% G-fund. It is there first stint in the G-fund since late March.

soupykid (8) abandoned a diversified stock fund approach (roughly one-third each in the C, S, and I-funds) in favor of a full commitment to the S-fund. It’s a move that amplifies risk but also potential reward if small caps continue to lead.

Tailgate (44) left the G-fund to take on 100% S-fund.

Top 2025 Returns and Allocations

Yesterday, soupykid and Smoke moved ahead of the I-fund in the 2025 AutoTracker standings, bringing the total to nine members who are now outperforming the I-fund for the year.

Today, two of these leading members, soupykid and rayald, made IFTs, but they responded to market conditions in very different ways.

Rayald made a notable shift to the G-fund, marking just their sixth IFT of 2025 and their first move to the G-fund since late March.

Meanwhile, soupykid executed their 15th IFT of the year—the highest among top members and surpassing even the AutoTracker leader MRJ. Soupykid consolidated their previously diversified stock fund allocation into a focused 100% S-fund position.

Below is the average allocation of these top 9 members after today's IFTs:

Average Allocation of Top 9

(Includes Today's IFTs)

G: 16.7%, F: 0.0%, C: 20.0%, S: 63.3%, I: 0.0%

Yesterday's action had the top 100 shift some funds from the I-fund an into the C and S-funds. Both the smaller group of leaders (Top 9) and the broader Top 100 favor the S-fund, but the larger group naturally provides a more diversified snapshot of fund choices.

Average Allocation of Top 100

G: 19.2%, F: 2.0%, C: 29.6%, S: 33.4%, I: 12.2%
