Last Things First
by Father Ted
It’s easy to get carried away thinking about what lies ahead. If you’re like me, you already have your Thanksgiving menu set and most of your ingredients purchased; you’ve got the first few weekends in December planned out, and you’re making bowl predictions for the rest of the college football season. But even if your planning doesn’t look anything like mine, there’s a good chance that you are already diving headfirst into the upcoming holiday season.
NB: If you still have a few openings in your “December Dance Card,” just take a look at all the amazing opportunities to worship, pray, learn, serve, and grow around here between now and the end of the year. Feel free to scroll right past this article to see everything that’s coming up this Advent. Go ahead: I’ll be here when you get back.
As I was saying, it’s easy to get carried away with what’s coming up. But as liturgical Christians, our calendar has a way of slowing us down and preventing us from getting ahead of ourselves.

We are sad to inform you of the death of long-time parishioner, Shirley Moesley who died on November 6, 2022. We remember Shirley and her husband, Clarkson, whenever we see the gilded processional cross with the four seraphim, which was a gift to Transfiguration on the occasion of their twentieth wedding anniversary. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated for Shirley on Tuesday, November 22 at 1:00pm at the Church. Please keep Shirley in your prayers and extend your condolences to her family.
Rest eternal grant to her, O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon her.
May Shirley’s soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace and rise in glory.

To date, we have reached 75% of our $2 Million goal for this year's Stewardship Campaign. We are deeply grateful for the prayerful consideration and generosity so many have demonstrated. So far, 300 households have pledged. There are approximately 200 households from whom we have not heard so far. If you have not yet made your pledge for the coming year, please help us close the gap to 100%. All responses, even those indicating you are unable to pledge this year, help the Vestry to plan for 2023. We have created a collection of tools to help you make your decision. If you have not yet responded, please submit your pledge online, contact Cathleen Dolt, our Parish Administrator, or complete a pledge card and drop it in the offering plate at church.

Adopt an Angel
This is the final weekend to visit The Salvation Army and Fig Food Pantry Angel Tree. These programs offer opportunities to bring joy to Metroplex-area children and disabled adults this Christmas.
There are a few Angels on the Angel Tree hoping to be adopted: The Salvation Army Angels and the Transfiguration Food Pantry Angles are children with a need and a wish and the Forgotten Angels are disabled seniors who need our help.
Stop by the Angel tree in the Gathering Space and our volunteers will help you to adopt your perfect angel. Please return all gifts by the end of November.
