Reporting to the Director, Examinations, working from APEGA’s Edmonton office. The Psychometrician’s core responsibilities include providing psychometric analysis, exam development, and exam administration support for all examination programs that the APEGA Examinations Department provides to licensed professionals, applicants, and other Canadian regulator applicants. The Psychometrician will utilize current examination data storage and assessment systems to conduct and support data analyses, psychometric analyses, registrant database access, item authoring, item banking, and exam delivery.

The College of Optometrists of British Columbia guides and regulates the profession of optometry in the public interest to ensure that the public receives safe, ethical, and effective optometric services in BC. The College achieves this by establishing and enforcing entry to practice requirements, standards of practice and standards of conduct. Our authority to do so is derived from the Health Professions Act.

The Registrar is responsible for all regulatory and administrative functions and duties of the College in accordance with the Health Professions Act, the College bylaws, and the Board of Director’s governance policies and guidelines. The Registrar provides leadership to the Board and Staff related to all aspects of the College’s operations. The Registrar is the most senior paid leadership position at the College of Optometrists and is ultimately responsible for meeting the mandate of the College and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
