The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) regulates the  practices of engineering and geoscience  in Alberta on behalf of the Government of Alberta through the  Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act .

Reporting to the Chief Membership Services Officer, the Director, Communications is responsible for the development and oversight of strategic communications that align with, support, and clearly deliver on APEGA’s strategic priorities and operational plan.
This position is responsible for leading a team of communications professionals that is focused on effectively communicating relevant and valuable information to members, permit holders, external stakeholders, and staff. The Director, Communications must consistently demonstrate a high standard of excellence for communications, outreach, and stakeholder relations, and ensure that organizational messages are coordinated, strategically positioned, and effectively communicated to advance APEGA’s regulatory and member-focused objectives. This position is responsible for APEGA’s brand and reputation management across all communication channels and building awareness (with members, and internal and external stakeholders) of APEGA, its role as a professional regulatory body, and of the engineering and geoscience professions in Alberta.

REGISTRAR & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alberta College of Social Workers, Edmonton, AB

The Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) serves as the professional regulatory body for the profession of social work in Alberta. Its regulatory obligations are legislated under the  Health Professions Act  (HPA) that has requirements for mandatory registration, continuing competency, the practice of restricted activities, and a specialty register for clinical social workers. The ACSW supports continuing competency activities for its membership such as an annual conference and regional events that promote skilled and ethical social work practice.

The Registrar & Executive Director (RED) is an Ex-Officio member and accountable to the Council of the ACSW for enacting the vision and strategy of the Council and for ensuring the organization upholds the regulatory standards set by the HPA, thrives through responsible financial management, efficient management of operations, setting and achieving operational goals. These responsibilities are intended to support the success of the mission and strategic directions of the ACSW and to assist in positioning the ACSW as a recognized leader in the field of social work and regulated health professions.
STAFF LAWYER, COMPLAINTS AND INVESTIGATION

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND FINANCE
Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP), Edmonton, AB

Governed by the Health Professions Act, the Alberta College of Pharmacy (“ACP”) is responsible for quality pharmacy practice in Alberta. The ACP governs pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies to support and protect the public’s health and well-being. ACP takes responsibility for pharmacy practice by setting and enforcing high standards of competence and ethical conduct. However, as a single entity within Alberta’s broader health system, interdependencies amongst partners and stakeholders are critical to success.

Reporting to the Registrar, the Senior Director of Operations and Finance (Senior Director) is responsible for overseeing all operational functions of the college including finance, human resources and IT. The current team reporting to the Senior Director, both directly and indirectly, is approximately 11 professionals. The Senior Director will provide leadership, risk management, and maintain the college as a workplace of choice. Their efforts will ensure the financial stability and sustainability of the college, the identification of potential operational risks and implementation of risk mitigation strategies, and an effective workplace that enables team members to be successful personally and collectively.
VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS
Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), Toronto, ON

The role of the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (www.tssa.org) is to enhance safety where Ontarians live, work and play. In that role it carries out a broad spectrum of functions to ensure safety is achieved in the mandated programs to the betterment of the general public in Ontario. From safety inspections to engineering reviews, certification and licensing to public education and outreach, TSSA’s leading-edge risk management and proactive partnership approach helps TSSA improve public safety outcomes.

Reporting to the CEO, and as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President, Operations supports the organization through the development and execution of a strategy in support of the organizations overall vision and mission. With an overall focus on Safety, this NFP organization is going through a significant transformation, requiring a resilient, collaborative and engaging leader. It will be important for this leader to have direct experience leading an organization through a transformation, appreciating where the distinct challenges lie. The Vice President, Operations leads the largest single team in this organization, so the opportunity to have an impact is substantial.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council, Burlington, ON

ICCRC is the national regulatory body that promotes and protects the public interest by overseeing regulated immigration consultants and international student advisors. ICCRC establishes effective policies, practices, and procedures to regulate and educate immigration consultants.

ICCRC is looking for a strong leader and communicator to fill the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the Council’s Finance, Human Resources and Operational services through clear direction, guidance and oversight into all operations of the organization.  The COO is responsible for leading and guiding the operational translation of the strategic plan into a living and prioritized plan.

Reporting to the President & CEO, the COO leads the operational teams and contributes as a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT). This role is accountable for participating in the fulfillment of the Mission and Vision of ICCRC in a manner that is consistent with ICCRC values.
