Scallops are being found in 7ft or in real shallow like 1-2ft! Try Nine Mile Bank or around Keaton Beach & Dark Island! Seems like everyone's favorite depth of 4ft has been picked through.
They are hiding under silt! Many folks are having luck walking for scallops and feeling them with their feet! Seriously!

TOP 10 SCALLOP & RED SNAPPER HIGHLIGHTS THIS SEASON
As the season is coming to an end we wanted to reflect on some of the highlights of both scallop season 2021 & red snapper season 2021! Right column is SCALLOP, left column is RED SNAPPER!
TOP 10 RED SNAPPER HIGHLIGHTS 2021
NUMBER 1 is the red snapper caught by Garrett Morrow! Garrett landed this massive red snapper during the Doug Johnson Reeling for Kids Fishing Tournament where he won 1st Place Red Snapper!
NUMBER 2 goes to Capt. Chase Norwood and his massive red snapper he caught during a lesiure trip with friends! This snapper weighed 22lbs and was one of the largested Capt. Chase has caught!
NUMBER 3 was Mr. Tom's hefty red snapper he caught during an offshore trip this season!
NUMBER 4 was Melissa Rice's huge red snapper she caught!
NUMBER 5 goes to Nick George and this tough-looking red snapper he caught! Nick fishes frequently out of Steinhatchee and even has a fishing YouTube page called NickeeGeeTV check it out!

NUMBER 6 goes to Hunter and her huge red snapper she landed while fishing offshore with her family! She's even sporting a Sea Hag hat!
NUMBER 7 went to Capt. Leslie Hernandez! It's not a normal thing to see this captain with a red snapper in his hands as his specialty is inshore fishing but Captain Leslie has shown that he can show out even on an offshore trip!
NUMBER 8 goes to Bill & Nyki Klare and their 2 whoppin' red snappers they caught! Can you say DOUBLE UP!
NUMBER 9 just had to go to Savannah Amundsen and her red snapper kiss! Savannah fishes mostly out of Keaton Beach, just north of Steinhatchee!
NUMBER 10 went to Lori Medlin and her first red snapper! Lori went offshore fishing for her first time and managed to catch the biggest snapper on the boat!
NUMBER 1 goes to the Bruce Family and their big ol' pile of scallops they collected! We love seeing families go scallops together, it is a wonderful time for everyone!
NUMBER 2 went to Reagan, Piper & Lisa Banks. These girls along with the Sullivans went on a TWO BOAT trip and came back with three buckets of scallops! Check out the size of those scallops!
NUMBER 3 went to the iconic Robbie & Parker and their Sea Hag 2021 Scallop picture! What an awesome idea!
NUMBER 4 went to Sea Hag girls, Tori Clayton & Whitney Stemple! When these girls aren't working they are scalloping!
NUMBER 5 goes to The Beasley and Carver families! These families have been coming to the Sea Hag for so many years, you could call them scallop experts!
Number 6 went to Capt. Leslie Hernandez and his family! They slammed the scallops and all managed to fill their bags full!
Number 7 goes to the Bowman Family! This little guy had his hands full with these bags of scallops! He learned how to find the big ones with help from his "PeePa", Capt. Mike Duttenhaver!
Number 8 is the Wingate family and their TWO BOAT trip with the TWO Captain Skippers! You can spot the captains by their signature "thumbs up"!
Number 9 had to go to Dave & Kathleen who collected their limit of scallops with Capt. Leslie Hernandez! This picture made it into Woods N Water Magazine in July!
Coming in at Number 10 we have Laura Whitten and her scallop eyes! We have been blessed with a wonderful scallop season here in Steinhatchee! We received more rain than usual, but we also had so many sunny days to go with it! Our scallop population is still strong and we can't wait for next season! Come down next season and see what's "Happenin' in the Hatch!"
