The Government of Alberta is conducting its final public engagement webinar to conclude input on their Wapiti Recreation and Trail Management Plan for the Dunes area south of Grande Prairie. As a Board, Wapiti Nordic has already provided input, but anyone interested or who recreates anywhere in the Dunes area should check out the website and stay informed.

Our south and some of the Forest trails are the venue for a trail running event on this date. Mountain bike riders are encouraged to access other trails that day to avoid trail use conflict on the single track. The event is staging at the main stadium and should be wrapped up by 6:00pm. Thanks in advance.

For those that do not have an annual WNSC membership, Summer memberships and day passes are now available via our website. Please encourage family and friends to purchase either option when using our trails to help offset summer maintenance and infrastructure expenses, and provide the user (and Club) with insurance coverage while on our trails. Cheers!

Registration is now open for this popular Fall trail running event. Lots of options for all fitness levels: 3km, 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km! Includes a T-shirt if you register before August 17th. Commit now and stay motivated through the summer!

Thank you to everyone who attended our meeting on April 21st. We had 27 people show up and some great questions from the floor. The 2024-2025 volunteer Board Members were elected and draft Minutes can be viewed here.

Summer 2024 |

When using our trails, please remember that you are recreating in a wildlife corridor! Make noise, travel in a group carry bear spray somewhere accessible and know how to use it! The Club is not able to report all sightings so trail users travel at their own risk.
