Good morning!

The short-track racing schedule is ramping up, with more areas of the country welcoming pavement Late Model racing. The hot spots this weekend included Cordele Motor Speedway in Georgia, where there were two incidents involving late leaders in the Late Model Sportsman half of the IHRA Stock Car Series twinbill (inset image of #92 Lane Woods spinning in front of Nick Loden and others from Speed Sport 1).

In New England, the anticipated rough weather didn't stop the Northeast Classic at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Connor Souza earned his first-ever victory in the American-Canadian Tour, while seven-time PASS North champion D.J. Shaw added another victory to his collection from that organization.

The Michigan action began with the Intimidator 100 at Kalamazoo Speedway. Tyler Roahrig picked up that trophy for the fourth time this decade, and equally as important was the fact that weather didn't mess up the event; the 'Zoo's season opener was delayed by either rain or a pandemic in five of the previous six years.

The list of winners from major events from the weekend also included Jeremy Miller at Grundy County Speedway in Illinois, Jake Garcia at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Alabama, and Kyle Keller and Jay Juleson at Stockton 99 Speedway in California. There was also one winner who crossed the finish line backwards!

All of the results, plus a few photos and story links where available, are below. Scroll down to see it all!

In two days, we'll have closer looks at the victories from Loudon and Kalamazoo. At the end of the week we'll feature some other top finishers from around the country.

To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.

And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since the start of March.

Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.
