Hello and Happy Monday!

We hope everyone reading enjoyed Easter weekend. He has risen.

Easter is often light on short-track racing, at least in pavement Late Model competition. There were hot spots Saturday, especially in Virginia and North Carolina, and largely under the banner of the recently-renamed NASCAR Local Racing Series presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts. There's plenty for this week's Monday Digest edition.

Some of the winners were very familiar names. Peyton Sellers (inset photo from Joe Chandler) won the first twin-75 Late Model Stock Car race at South Boston Speedway; he's a two-time national champion of NASCAR's grassroots level, among numerous other honors. At Southern National Motorsports Park, the big winner was Kaden Honeycutt, one night after he ran the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at nearby Rockingham; Honeycutt is adept at both LMSC and Super Late Model racing, having won the 2024 Snowball Derby. And Michael Bumgarner won at Hickory Motor Speedway, the historic bullring where he earned the last two top-class track championships.

A few trophies were taken by drivers who endured winless 2025 campaigns, including Bobby McCarty in the first race at South Boston, and Jon Guy at Auburndale Speedway in Florida outside the mid-Atlantic region. All of the results, plus a few photos and story links where available, are below. Scroll down to see it all!

In addition to compiling results, part of the purpose for the Monday Digest is to attract readers to the Wednesday Winners and Friday Features releases later in the week. On Hump Day we'll have more on the Auburndale winner, Limited Late Model wins by Chase Robertson at Hickory and Jacob Derrick, and Tri-County Speedway feature winner Kaeden Ballos.

To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.

And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since the start of March.

Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.

Have a great week, and thank you for supporting Late Model Digest!
