Good afternoon!

The NASCAR Cup and Craftsman Truck Series events at North Wilkesboro Speedway were the focus of the stock car world over the weekend. You won't see those results in LMD's Monday Digest, but keep reading for what you want to see!

The historic oval kicked off the pavement Late Model scene this weekend, with a doubleheader for the zMax CARS Tour. Truck racer Kaden Honeycutt returned to his roots and pulled the sweep in the Late Model Stock Car and Pro Late Model divisions (inset photo courtesy Tom Usry Racing).

Another NASCAR name was on top under the CARS banner. Kevin Harvick, who has embraced Late Model action with the Rackley WAR Racing team since his retirement from the Cup level, came out on top in the Spears CARS Tour Northwest show at Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho. Having Harvick's name on its winners list will raise the profile of the Idaho 200 (he also won the Oxford 250 in 2008, during the height of his NASCAR career).

We'd usually rather highlight the pavement Late Model regulars' accomplishments. In New England the major shows included the Keith Morse Memorial at Riverside Speedway, won by Jesse Switser, and a pair of Pro Stock races at the track formerly known as Speedway 95, swept by Austin Teras. Other winners from that region included repeat winners Brandon Varney at Oxford Plains Speedway and Stephen Donahue at Claremont Motorsports Park.

Michigan saw one of its biggest Outlaw Late Model shows, and the trophy for the Stan Yee Memorial at Flat Rock Speedway went to Indiana with Scott Hantz. Evan Shotko added another template Late Model victory to his resume at Berlin Raceway. Some other events in Michigan were postponed due to air quality issues from some Canadian wildfires; we wish the best to everyone affected by that disaster.

This Monday Digest lists results from the upper Midwest (big winners such as Michael Bilderback, Casey Johnson and Paul Shafer Jr.) and everywhere else we could find. (Two facilities in the mid-Atlantic states couldn't get their results out by our deadline. Sorry ... their loss.)

We also have more than 20 photos plus some story links where available. Scroll down to see it all!

In two days our Wednesday Winners exclusives will focus on New England and Michigan. We also have some wide-ranging close-ups for Friday Features, looking at North Carolina and Maritime Canada.

To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.

And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since Memorial Day weekend.

Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and thank you for supporting Late Model Digest!
