Hello and Happy Monday!
The two sites with the highest pavement Late Model participation this weekend were Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C., and the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Both were under the Championship Auto Racing Series sanctioning, and they have prominent spots in this week's Monday Digest.
Wake County held its annual zMax CARS Late Model Stock Tour event, with an overflow field for the second straight year. Conner Jones rebounded from a fuel problem late in that 175-lapper around the quarter-mile bullring. The midrace highlights included several run-ins involving polesitter Mini Tyrrell and Doug Barnes Jr. (the race amazingly stayed under green for a big after Tyrrell's airborne moment; image from FloRacing).
In the Pacific time zone, the Pro and Limited Late Models of the Spears CARS Tour West visited Vegas, with familiar winners in Keelan Harvick and Jeff Peterson. Haley Constance took top honors at Evergreen Speedway in Washington, and Sam Solari grabbed one for the second straight week at Stockton 99 Speedway in California.
Outside of the season opener for Pro Late Models at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, won by Brett Robinson, and a couple of support-division-highlighted shows at Montgomery, Ala., and Pensacola, Fla., most of the rest of the action was in the Eastern time zone. Celebrations there were held for Hudson Canipe, Jake Finch, Dylan Ward, Brad Housewright, Josh Sage (omitting him earlier is the reason for the revised release) and others.
Results for all of these and other races, plus story links from a few and photos from a few more, are below. All photos on these releases are hyperlinked if the photographer has a website or other online presence. All of the advertisements are also hyperlinked.
Scroll down to see it all. In our Wednesday Winners edition we'll go more in depth with Robinson from Nashville, plus look at the newest Carolina Pro Late Model Series race winner, and two more stories from the Carolinas: a new number for Dylan Ward, and a new destination for Zack Franks.
To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.
And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since the start of March.
Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.
Have a great week, and thank you for supporting Late Model Digest!
