Good evening!

Much of the pavement Late Model action this weekend took place in the Southeast, but the highest-profile event (and the lead of this Monday Digest edition) was probably the ASA Midwest Tour race at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wis. Much of the Madison show was dominated by Gabe Sommers (15, shown taking the early lead from Justin Mondeik; Bruce Nuttleman/ Ultimate Lap Photo), but a part failure sidelined Sommers and opened the door for Austin Nason.

Along the East Coast, the special events included the American-Canadian Tour-sanctioned season opener at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, Vt., where Gabe Brown continued his roll under the ACT banner. Another track with a huge show in the spring is Newport Speedway in east Tennessee, where Zack Franks added to his spring checklist with a victory in the Ted Caldwell Memorial. And the biggest winners west of the Rocky Mountains were Taylor Mayhew in the Spears CARS Tour West at Colorado National Speedway and Trey Daniels in a Super Late Model special at Shasta Speedway that was a co-headliner with the ARCA Menards Series West.

All of the results are below, plus story links where available (Madison, Montgomery, South Boston, Thunder Road and Colorado) and a smattering of photos. Any photo where the photographer has a website or online presence is hyperlinked, as are all of the advertisements from our fabulous supporters. Scroll down to see it all!

In two days we'll have our largest Wednesday Winners release ever, with reports from 12 winners planned! Franks at Newport is on that list, plus victors in Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Indiana, Washington, California and Ontario! Some runners-up are on the docket for Friday.

To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.

And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since the start of April.

Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.

Have a great week, and thank you for supporting Late Model Digest!
