Good afternoon!
We're past the autumnal equinox, which means more special events around North America in short-track racing. Most of New England was past the point of salvaging its racing due to the Nor'easter storm; we wish the best to those affected.
All of the pavement Late Model racing results are in this weekly release called the Monday Digest. It starts with the most prestigious race of the year for Late Model Stock Cars in the mid-Atlantic states. The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway was Caden Kvapil (inset photo courtesy JR Motorsports), who joined his brother Carson as winners of a grandfather clock from the historic paved paper clip in Virginia.
We're also deep into the multi-day and/or multi-race festival season. The year's final points races for Super and Pro Late Models at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Fla., were Saturday, with veteran Matt Craig winning on the Super Late Model side and Preston Peltier's teenage phenom Turner Brown taking the crate-engine race.
In Wisconsin, attention was focused on the National Short Track Championships, held for the third year at Dells Raceway Park. Nick Nolden pulled off a repeat in the Limited Late Model headliner, while the CWRA circuit, the 602 crate-engine class, and other divisions were also in action.
Three classes which we care about were in action at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Mich. Chad Finley pulled off a repeat in the Outlaw Late Model portion of the Owosso Nationals, while the winners were also familiar in the Turn One CRA Pro Late Model Series and the Late Model Sportsman division: Blake Rowe and Brent Jack.
There were also annual specials at Kalamazoo Speedway, Grundy County Speedway, Colorado National Speedway and elsewhere. And in Canada, two dominating series champions wrapped up their crowning campaigns in style: Jake Sheridan in the APC United Late Model Series in Ontario and Ashton Tucker in the FGI Pro Stock Tour in the Maritime provinces.
Every rundown is listed below, along with some sweet photos and also story links where available. Scroll down past some messages from more of our fantastic advertisers to see it all!
