Hello again!
Four more pavement Late Model champions from last season are profiled in this Wednesday Winners release.
Two of the names have been on champions' lists several times. One is Mike Lichtfeld (#44; Roy Ophime Photography), who captured his fourth straight Limited Late Model championship at Dells Raceway Park. This title run was different in a few ways for the Wisconsin veteran; for one thing, he stopped referring to his car and team as Cuatro Cuatro on social media so much (Mike Lichtfeld Motorsports now has its own YouTube channel).
Another familiar name is Dan Leeck, a two-time champion of the then-Jegs CRA All-Stars Tour in the 2010s. His latest accomplishment is a points title (and good purse check) from the Outlaw Late Model division at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Mich.
Two new faces were seen next to championship banners in North Carolina. Bryson Brinkley added to his family's generation-long legacy at Caraway Speedway, joining his dad Brad and brother Blaise with season-long honors at the oval near Asheboro, N.C. And up along I-85 (sort of), Chase Ellis has the crown at Orange County Speedway and some more family racing stories.
Scroll down to the large-type underlined link below, to read this week's Wednesday Winners! More champions will be featured in two days in our Friday Features edition (looking specifically at Maine, Alabama, Colorado, and the Northwest).
We have extended our grace period for Late Model Digest subscriptions one more week. To continue seeing LMD releases (other than the Monday Digest) in your email box after this week, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year.
We do produce content year-round (2025 champions stories will continue for at least another week, then some rookie of the year pieces will be out in late January), so the cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release. And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious).
Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.
Enjoy the rest of your week! Thank you for supporting Late Model Digest.
