Hello again!

Our weekly Wednesday Winners edition usually focuses on pavement Late Model races which did not have story links available for the Monday Digest two days earlier. This time, one of the spring's biggest racing weekends was in that category, which lets LMD have some more exclusive content.

The Hardee's Rattler 250 at South Alabama Speedway is one of the highest-paying Late Model races ever, with a top prize of $50,050.50 (guess how many Rattlers there have been?). Now 12 percent of all Rattler headliners have been won by Ty Majeski, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series standout who'll take every opportunity to rejoin Toby Nuttleman and the Late Model world. This year's 250-lapper was a race-long battle between Majeski and Colin Allman (cover image from Tyler Sontag/ SpeedRacer Photos).

One night earlier was the "Baby Rattler," one of the biggest Pro Late Model races on the Deep South calendar. Jake Finch captured his third straight victory in the event with the rattlesnake head in the trophy, continuing the legacy of car owner and three-time Rattler Super Late Model winner Ronnie Sanders.

We've also included a pair of North Carolina drivers who are no stranger to the winner's circle: Mason Walters at Hickory Motor Speedway and Justin Carroll at Tri-County Speedway. Each driver has a unique story from the weekend: a new ride for Walters and a return to the seat for speed shop owner and setup man Carroll.

Click on the cover image, or scroll down to the large-type underlined link below, to read this week's Wednesday Winners! There's also one story link from Monday which we errantly omitted, from Stockton 99 Speedway in California, so that's right below.

In two days we'll have more from the Rattler weekend and the IHRA Stock Car Series opener in Virginia. We made this Wednesday release free to the public because of the Rattler content.

To continue seeing LMD releases in your email box, you'll need to subscribe at a cost of $30 per year. The cost winds up being about 27-28 cents per release.

And once you subscribe, we encourage suggestions from subscribers on topics for Thursday Throwback and Friday Features articles (Wednesday Winners subjects are more obvious). We'll also get you caught up on any you may have missed since the start of 2026.

Those wishing to subscribe may send checks to the address at the bottom of this email. We are also set up on Zelle and Venmo; please contact me for that information at this email address, jimcarsonlmd@gmail.com. PayPal is also an option but we'd have to email you an invoice. We will do our best to make it worth the $30 per year for the subscription.

Enjoy the rest of your week! Thank you for supporting Late Model Digest.
