Good morning!

This week's Friday Features edition continues our looks at rookie-of-the-year efforts from last season. Two are in the short-track-racing crazy state of Wisconsin, including State Park Speedway local racer Jevin Guralski (#20, shown with his brother Kole Guralski; William Prutz/ QCWilly Photography). Tucker Miller at Golden Sands Speedway is also an interesting case, as he's older than some of the drivers whom he competed against at Golden Sands Speedway but was still considered a rookie there.

We also have the son of a former Late Model track champion in Iowa who's making his own name known at the state's only weekly paved oval. Our other two features come from north of the border, with two 2023 rookies with diverse backgrounds.

Click on the large-type link below to read these stories, then scroll down a little more to see a photo from last February at Florida Speedweeks of Ontario rookie Cory Luciano; he used a newer car last summer in his home province.

We'll have more 2023 rookie-of-the-year stories next week, as we wait for the 2024 season to kick off in earnest January 19-20 at Cordele GA and Tucson AZ. Thank you for reading!

Late Model Digest - January 12, 2024 (Friday Features)

Below: Cory Luciano trekked from Ontario to race his Pro Late Model at last February's World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna FL. This was his first taste of oval racing. Seven months later he was crowned rookie of the year in the APC United Late Model Series. (Jim Carson photo)
