Good morning! We have some actual results for this Monday Digest.

Late Model racers from several areas were chomping at the bit to place their cars on the grid for the season opener, such as the group pictured above (led by zMax CARS Pro Late Model Tour polesitter Tyler Tanner and Kris Wright at Kenly NC; 9D Creative photo). This weekend brought good racing weather at the important times for four locations; the exception was at Kern Raceway in Bakersfield CA, where the inaugural zMax CARS Pro Late Model Tour West event was postponed two weeks.

Below: This weekend's Super Late Model race at Auburndale Speedway was also a celebration of life for Mike Toemmes, a former racer and longtime crew member for Florida-based racers, mostly in Late Model action but also with Drew Brannon's effort in the then-NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in the early 2010s. Toemmes passed away in December at age 66.

Here are Mikey's sister-in-law Linda and nephew Pete in the stands at the bullring, holding a photo of one of Mikey's victories at a track in upstate South Carolina.
