Period of Purple Crying and Safe Sleep

The Period of PURPLE Crying is an evidenced based Shaken Baby Syndrome/Abusive Head trauma (SBS/AHT) prevention program developed by National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome. The program provides tools for educating parents and caretakers on normal infant crying, the most common trigger for shaking an infant. When parents and caregivers are able to understand and manage this early crying period, they are less likely to shake a baby out of frustration and anger.
The Safe Sleep portion of the training will provide participants with the information to educate parents and other caregivers about infant safe sleep practices to help reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related causes of infant death. Register here.
