Fall Leaf Collection: Saturday, October 26th

Republic Services will provide curbside leaf collection on Saturday, October 26th. All leaf waste must be put in biodegradable bags and placed curbside by 6am on the day of pick-up. There is a limit of eight bags per pick-up.

National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week

National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, which falls on October 20-26, 2024, serves as an annual occasion dedicated to addressing the safeguarding of our families against lead exposure. The potential sources of such exposure encompass:

Older Home and Buildings: Particularly those constructed prior to 1978, as pain chips and dust can pose risks.

Products: Lead has been used for a long time in a wide variety of products found in and around our homes, including painted toys, furniture and toy jewelry; cosmetics; food or liquid containers; and plumbing materials.
Drinking Water: Corrosion of plumbing materials, especially where the water has a high acidity or low mineral content that corrodes pipes and fixtures.
Job & Hobbies: Working with lead and/or lead-based paint or having a hobby that uses lead.

Comprehensive Plan Open House

Join us this fall at a community open house on October 28th from 4pm-6pm to learn about the comprehensive plan and share your vision for Lower Gwynedd. Refreshments will be served.

Gwynedd Gives Warmth

Gwynedd Mercy Academy School is hosting its fourth annual coat drive, Gwynedd Gives Warmth! From October 28th to November 19, you can drop off coats at Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School and the Lower Gwynedd Township Building. All coats will be donated to those in need through One Warm Coat Distribution.

This initiative was started by alumna Ava Kulp as part of the LEAD4Change program. Inspired by the Sisters of Mercy’s focus on earth, Ava aimed to provide warmth to those in need while also supporting the environment.
