Community News/Update:

"Community News/ Update" is our opportunity to celebrate and give a shoutout to Frog Meadow guests, friends, allies and collaborators!
Warlé, Yesterday, and Today, A Remembrance of Warren and Leon, partners of 58 Years As part of marking June 2022 as LGBTQ Pride Month, Grace Cottage Hospital, in association with Valley Cares and frog Meadow, hosted a remembrance, celebration, and commemoration of the legacy of Leon Ingall & Warren Kronemeyer - lifetime partners of 58 years - which included a presentation “Warlé, Yesterday, and Today” by their gay cousin, Andrew Ingall.

In 2004, Warren Kronemeyer generously donated their home and 9.85 acres on Route 35 in Townshend that he had owned with his lifetime partner of 58 years, Leon Ingall, to Grace Cottage (the couple operated their business, Warlé Antiques, in their beautiful 1810 Federal style red brick home).

In 2005, Grace Cottage donated the house and property to Valley Cares for their assisted- and independent living project which, since it opened in 2007, has been providing excellent care and housing for elders in our community.
Leon & Warren were with us in spirit the day of the presentation in the form of remembrances, stories and artifacts shared by those in the community who knew and loved them both.

This engaging and inspiring presentation took place on Tuesday, June 28 with a small audience of those who knew Leon & Warren. Owing to COVID-gathering restrictions and space constraints, this was a virtual presentation, open to all via ZOOM.
Frog Meadow’s Community Partnership with Grace Cottage Hospital includes the creation of an Equity Team at GCH that has been working to improve LGBTQ+ awareness and access, as well as training for employees to provide equitable, knowledgeable, sensitive, and welcoming health care for all, free from discrimination. The Equity Team consists of Grace Cottage Physicians, Physician Assistants, Family Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, support staff, and local community members Scott Heller and Dave King of Frog Meadow Farm.

Local Spotlight: Rock River Gay Beach
The Newfane area of Southern Vermont is Home to the Gay Beach and Nude Swimming Hole on the Rock River. Frog Meadow is 4 miles from the Rock River trail head.

As you hike further up the Rock River you will notice that the first swimming hole is deep with a sandy beach and a rope swing. This is the “family” swimming hole where the clothing stays on. The further upstream you go the more likely you are to see nude bathers; the next couple of beaches up the trail are mixed, gay and straight, and nude.

As you continue further up the Rock River it becomes increasingly gay until you reach your final destination (about a 30-minute hike from the road) and discover the “official” gay area. While the wooded areas are very cruisy and do have their share of activities, the scene by the water is very social and quite friendly (e.g. no “attitude”). Men often bring preparations with them for a summer BBQ and, generally speaking, all are welcome, especially if you have things to share. There is a feeling of being in another time and place when you’re there... Click here to read more about Rock River

Virtual Soulful Breathwork & Guided Meditation

For most of us, the past two years has afforded an opportunity like never before to stare into the face in the mirror and ask difficult questions. The ongoing acts of becoming ourselves did not stop simply because the world was in a global timeout. In fact, we suggest that because our lives paused during the quarantine we were able to lean into what it means to become more deeply ourselves!

What kind of lives do we choose for ourselves, what kind of world do we create on the other side of this collective reset?
Check out the Eye of the Storm Resources with guided meditations, breathing practices to calm the mind and strengthen the immune system, and links to virtual gatherings where adventurers of spirit meet to re-center, reconnect and rejuvenate!

Guest Reviews & Comments
"Paradise!"

"We had an absolutely amazing time at Frog Meadow!

Dave and Scott are wonderful hosts and it was great getting to know the other guests, everyone was very friendly.

We stayed in the Carriage House Suite which was spacious with all the amenities you would ever need. It was great to float in the swimming pond, relax in the hot tub with the other guests, and explore the hiking trails around the B&B.

Breakfast was delicious, and the grounds were absolutely stunning with lush greenery and beautiful gardens.

We will definitely be coming back soon!!
