Inspiration
“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work.
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.” –Unknown

What's New with MC4ME?
In late August, we convened a wonderful day of connection and learning. In the morning, 35 educators and health professionals from across the state offered information about the ways in which school communities are weaving mindfulness into the lives of classroom teachers, students, and their families. We are inspired by the stories of our presenters and highlight them below .

In the afternoon, we convened a meeting of professionals from various business and non-profits that include mindfulness as central to their training missions. We are energized about the prospect to further link and support these and other mindfulness efforts throughout Michigan.
Professional Development

At the beginning of August, over 175 staff from Troy Public Schools took time out of their vacation to attend a one day mindfulness training provided by MC4ME. There was so much interest that the initial one day training turned into two days and participants were still turned away. Kudos to Stephanie Snider, an elementary school social worker, has been the driving catalyst in bringing mindfulness more widely into the lives of teachers and students in the Troy School District.
