Homecoming 2022 - One for the record books!
Greetings!

The annual Alumni Homecoming Breakfast was a great success. We continued with our tradition of having the meal prepared by faculty and staff and celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the class of 1972. We are continually looking for ways to reconnect with alumni and friends of The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

You can also connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram @TarletonCOANR.

News
Researchers from Tarleton State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and the College of Business have joined forces with a grant Competitiveness of Small and Medium Sized Dairy and Beef Grazing Operations in The Southern Great Plains

The three-year U.S. Department of Agriculture funded project’s overall goal is to develop usable and readily accessible profitability data that will equip small and medium sized dairy, and beef cattle and stocker grazing operations. It will initially focus on farms in Texas and Oklahoma in the Southern Great Plains so that they become more competitive in contemporary global markets.

Outstanding Texans
Texans attend Texas Section Society for Range Management Annual Meeting
Students from the Department of Wildlife & Natural Resources attended the 2022 Texas Section Society for Range Management (TSSRM) Annual Meeting in Denton, Texas.

Graduate students Jamileth Gonzales and David Johnston, undergraduate student Bryan Dunn, and Dr. Darrel Murray traveled to Denton, Texas, October 19-20.

The students presented posters on grassland research, listened to talks, and made professional contacts. Since a majority of land in Texas is private, attending the TSSRM Annual Meeting is a good medium to present applied research and learn about natural resource conservation perspectives from landowners, land managers, and academic professionals.

In The Classroom
TREAT Riding served almost 200 kids on Tuesday, October 25, from 17 different classes and 11 different towns at our biannual Special Kids Rodeo.

We could not have done it without the 140+ volunteers from our Tarleton Family, White Horse Christian Academy, Stephenville community, and many others from Weatherford all the way to Burnet! THANK YOU!
