STERLING HEIGHTS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES RE-OPENING OF COMMUNITY CENTER

In accordance with the Governor’s recent executive orders 2020-175 and 2020-176, which permits the opening of community centers for the purposes of fitness related activities, the Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department announces the re-opening of the Community Center to residents only beginning Monday, Sept. 21.

The Community Center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 am – 1 pm, and from 2 - 9 pm, in addition to Saturday from 9 am – 4 pm.

Modifications will be in place in order to participate in activities and programs throughout the building. More information on the safety procedures and guidelines can be found on our website at myshpr.net/updates.
HEY, LITTLE LEARNERS!

Watch your child grow in their own home as they interact with friends and our Little Learners instructor through virtual classes! 

We will interact through many engaging activities! Little Learners, join us as we sing our favorite songs, create crafts, listen to stories and move and dance together!

WOMEN'S ARCHERY CLASS

This archery class is designed just for women!

During this four week course you will try shooting different types of bows, from recurve, compound and crossbow. Archer's will be taught rules, safety and whistle commands before setting out to the range. We will also have a friendly shooting competition using the recurve bows.

This jammed packed class will inspire archers of all levels. Classes will be held outdoors, utilizing social distancing and mask must be worn at all times.

Archers equipment will be provided, please do not bring your own equipment.

Let's get cookin'! Grab your favorite spatula and an oven mitt because Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation is bringing the community together in the kitchen! We are asking you to submit your favorite recipes to be included in our Community Cookbook for all to enjoy. We cannot wait to see what you're cooking up!

Please submit by Friday, Oct. 2 for publishing!

Allow the artist in you to explore and get creative through the various art classes being offered through Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation! Create original art pieces using different mediums and learn techniques from qualified instructors!

We have many classes being offered for all ages and skill levels! Whether you are just looking to learn the basics or you have always wanted to develop your own talent, there is a class for you!

Applications can be picked up at the Sterling Heights Community Center, 40250 Dodge Park Rd., between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday – Friday. We are closed daily from 1 - 2 p.m.
