CEO Message

As I reflect on this past year, we have a lot to be grateful for here at the Community Foundation. It was so wonderful to see many of you at our recent 2019 Celebration of Philanthropy reception. What a fabulous evening honoring our legacy society members, donor family and nonprofit partners all making a difference in our community - forever !

As we prepare for the year-end, it may be a good time to check in with your professional advisors. A few topics to consider are: 1.) Bunching Charitable Deductions , 2.) Gifts of Appreciated Stock , and 3.) IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions .

Our team is ready to help you give grants from your fund, add to your existing fund, or establish a new fund. We are always happy to help you create an individualized giving plan to ensure that your donations make the greatest impact on the causes you care about while maximizing tax advantages.

In this time of giving thanks – and throughout this entire giving season – we offer our thanks to you, our partners and friends, for all you do. Please enjoy reading about the many wonderful things happening at YOUR Community Foundation.

Enjoy the season,

2019 Celebration of Philanthropy Reception
On December 3 we enjoyed celebrating what makes our community truly remarkable—our network of generous donors, philanthropic partners, and local nonprofits who help make the Space Coast a healthier and more vibrant place to live.

This year, we also celebrated those who will leave a legacy through a will, endowed or planned gift and invited others to launch their legacy with the Community Foundation.

A huge thank you to our Board of Directors, sponsors and guests who made the evening truly magical.

Welcome Habitat for Humanity of Brevard to our family of nonprofit endowment fund partners.

Through community partnerships they empower very low and low-income families and individuals to achieve their full community potential and realize their dream of home ownership. This is made possible through the revitalization of neglected neighborhoods, and development of planned communities with essential family support systems.

Smart Giving: Fulfilling Ways to Give
The Community Foundation offers several giving options, depending on what you hope to achieve through your philanthropy. Many donors take advantage of multiple strategies for tax planning purposes or to leverage their resources for greater good.

"Having served on the Board for 10 years, we saw first-hand the amazing work the Community Foundation was accomplishing and knew we could achieve our philanthropic, legacy and tax goals through a fund at the Community Foundation for Brevard."
