June 19th SUNY/FAME Apprenticeship Presentation Now Available Online

The Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers’ Enterprise was pleased to partner with SUNY to present an Apprenticeship webinar for our members on June 19, 2020. If you were unable to attend, that presentation and the slides presented are now available online via YouTube at the weblink below:

FLCC AAS ICTech (ICT) Program to be renamed Smart Systems Technologies (SST) and include four Advanced Manufacturing (AM) courses that will become an AM track option within SST.

FLCC's Non-credit Foundations in Advanced Manufacturing ( www.flcc.edu/workforce ) program is a comprehensive hands-on training that includes knowledge and skills for success in the high-technology work place. A description of the Foundations program and Syllabi for the three credit bearing courses are linked to the corresponding documents at FLCC's website.

Development of both the non-credit Foundations training and credit bearing courses required for the AAS Instrumentation and Control Technologies (ICTech) curriculum were developed based on extensive engagement and feedback from many of the same businesses including Finger Lakes Advanced Manufacturers' Enterprise members such as G.W Lisk and ITT Goulds Pumps Inc. with the goal of preparing the workforce for our regional the high-tech ecosystem.

Optimax POM Featured in Youth Apprentices' National Video Competition!

Noah Mueller, a youth apprentice from Optimax's Precision Optics Manufacturing (POM) program, recently won 3rd place in the Jobs for the Future (JFF) “Why I Apprentice” national video competition and earned a $250 prize! His video highlights the benefits he has received by participating in the program and will help inspire youth across the country to consider joining a youth apprenticeship program.

Update-- Finger Lakes Works With Their Hands 2020 (FLWWTH)

Unfortunately, due to the uncertainty surrounding the school environment this Fall, the Finger Lakes WIB has made the difficult decision to cancel the October 2020 Finger Lakes Works Their Hands event. They are currently exploring virtual opportunities for the Spring of 2021.
