Circle the wagons and slip on your spurs... it's almost time for the annual Cherokee Strip Celebration! September 16, 1893, The Cherokee Strip Land Run marked the opening of the Cherokee Outlet with an estimated 100,000 participants hoping to stake claim to part of the 6 million acres and 40,000 homesteads opened for settlement. It was Oklahoma's fourth and largest land run as well as the largest land run in the history of the United States.
We hope you will join us for this traditional event which celebrates Enid's unique history and continued growth. It would not be possible to host such a spectacular event without the support of our Chamber partners and event supporters. The parade entrants and participating vendors are the heart of the celebration and of course the thousands of people who gather to enjoy the festivities make it all worthwhile. There are so many ways to be involved in this event. Don't miss out! Check out the links below for applications and information. Be sure to check the event webpage enidchamber.com frequently to keep up with the schedule of events as things are added! For more information email lori@enidchamber.com or call (580)237-2494.
