Retiring President Expresses Appreciation

It has truly been an honor and a privilege to help lead the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce over the last 30+ years. If there is one single thing that stands out as I look back, it is gratitude. People have always been willing to help. I have been very fortunate to be surrounded by outstanding chairmen, board members and staff who love Enid and are committed to moving our city forward. When you factor in hundreds of members who generously donate their time and resources, it’s a recipe for progress and success.

We are stronger working together. The Enid Chamber has established important partnerships with the City of Enid, Vance Development Authority, Enid Regional Development Alliance, Enid Higher Education Council and Main Street Enid. Our organization is a major advocate for Autry Technology Center, one of our region’s greatest economic development assets. Whether it’s been supporting the mission at Vance Air Force Base, fostering public higher education, helping facilitate capital investment and job growth, school bonds or quality of life initiatives, our community has been blessed with visionary leaders and dedicated volunteers. They pursue their personal areas of interest, work hard and get things done.

Enid’s best days are ahead. Adding to Downtown Enid’s extraordinary attractions, an amphitheater, park and new Jiffy Trip are being built at the south gateway to downtown. A large sports complex for youth baseball, softball and football is planned. The new 66th St. West Industrial Park will help Enid attract large-scale projects, capital investment and new jobs. Vance AFB is scheduled to be a training center for the new T-7A Red Hawk, bringing in a new era to the Enid/Vance partnership.

Best wishes to Ryan Zaloudek, Enid Chamber President and CEO beginning in January. I know she and our staff will work hard to support our members and continue the quest to enhance Enid’s economic climate and quality of life.

Thank you for all your support over the years. I genuinely appreciate your efforts to help make Enid all it can be. This rewarding job has led me to many long-standing, valued friendships. I’ll see you around town.

Sincerely,

Jon Blankenship
