Summer Ready....

As we approach summer and close in on the halfway point of the year, I want to take a look back at the things we have accomplished and the exciting things to come!

Our in person events came back this year after a long hiatus and we held our most successful Game & Garden Soiree to date! We had huge support from old and new friends, celebrated 30 years of conservation and raised over $28,000 that will continue to support our efforts to conserve the natural and scenic lands of central South Carolina.

Our Escapes are back and we recently enjoyed a delicious walk along the Broad River at River Creek Farms, we sampled wild edibles like blackberries, flowers of a yucca plant, and barren strawberries and we also drank some surprisingly delicious pine needle tea. Our next Escape is for the kids and will be hosted by Camp Discovery. See below for more information.

It's been an exciting 30th anniversary celebration so far and we are planning more great events for the Fall! We hope you will join us and continue to support our efforts to make SC a beautiful place to live!

Sincerely,

Stuart

Outlook | Looking Back at Congaree Land Trust

In celebrating our 30th anniversary this year, we are taking some time to look at the history, outlook, and growth of the Congaree Land Trust.

This month we are highlighting one of Sumter County's most historic properties, Sans Souci Plantation. At the close of 2002, Dr. Wendell Levi, retired surgeon and Sumter native, placed a conservation easement on 348+ acres of this historic and scenic farm to protect it from intensive development.

Thank you for Visiting CLT at Mast General Store!

Thank you to Mast General Store and everyone who came out to support CLT for Land Trust Day! We enjoyed seeing old friends, meeting new people and sharing about the work we do to support land conservation in central South Carolina. Mast General Store generously donated 20% of all purchases made Saturday to Congaree Land Trust. The proceeds from Land Trust Day will directly impact our mission and it is because of you, our supporters, that we are able to make such an impact in our community.
