Bishop Provenzano Invites You to Inspirational Evening with Sister Jeanne Clark

Sister Jeanne Clark, a remarkable Dominican sister and consummate storyteller, will be sharing her life's journey in her new book, "All The Way In." This captivating memoir is the tale of her transformation from conventional ministries to becoming deeply involved in nonviolent witness, peace activism, and environmental stewardship. Her story encompasses experiences with incarceration, indigenous farmers, peaceful protests, and her heartfelt return to Long Island.


Admission to the event is free, and signed copies of "All The Way In" will be available for purchase at the special price of $20.

Lay Eucharistic Visitor Training Session

Mercer School of Theology, Garden City


This workshop will prepare those nominated by their clergy to act as Lay Eucharistic Visitors to those hospitalized, confined to rehabilitation and nursing institutions, and the homebound. Content will include Eucharistic theology, role-playing for Eucharistic visits, and information about required specific Safe Church training. With their rector/ clergy-in-charge's support, those who participate in this workshop can then be licensed by the Bishop's Office as Lay Eucharistic Visitors.


Registrations must be received by July 7.

EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF LONG ISLAND LAUNCHES NEW MISSION AT SITE OF FORMER ST. MARY'S, CARLE PLACE


Beginning December 3rd, the First Sunday of Advent 2023, the Diocese of Long Island, in coordination with the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Garden City, will launch a new mission venture called “Incarnation Chapel,” located in Carle Place. The chapel will be on the campus of the former historic St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

ST. JOHN'S ICARE FOUNDATION RECEIVES 38K GRANT TO SUPPLY HYGIENE KITS TO LOCAL TEENS


St. John’s ICARE Foundation has received a $38,000 grant from the Amazin’ Mets Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the New York Mets, to support Episcopal Health Services Teens Project. The grant will help supply 1,000 reusable duffle bags containing products like shampoo, soap, lotion, towels, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products. Teens will also receive important information about teen pregnancy, suicide, and bullying.
