To protect the privacy of an email being sent to a recipient outside of Aspirus, you need to take steps to send it securely. Malicious actors try to intercept email because it may contain sensitive and valuable information. Sending email securely means sending it in a way that enables only the recipient to read its contents. At Aspirus there are two options for sending email securely: using LiquidFiles in Outlook or including “Secure:” in the email subject.
Using LiquidFiles in Outlook (pictured)
In the LiquidFiles Outlook menu, click “Secure Attach.” This will cause the email, including attached files, to be sent using LiquidFiles. Recipients of the email will be required to log in to a secure server to read the content of the email and access attachments.
Including “Secure:” in the Email Subject
An alternative option to LiquidFiles is to simply type “Secure:” in the subject line of the email without quotations. This will only work when sending email to addresses outside of Aspirus.
