Order Set Standardization

Epic

Next group goes live Sept. 14

The next group of Epic order sets will be standardized on Wednesday, September 14. Standardization will impact order sets system-wide to establish consistency, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure order set designs are centered on decision support and evidence-based content. The newly created standardized order sets will replace location or physician-specific order sets and any previously user saved preferences in Epic will be retired.

Please reference the crosswalk below to determine order sets that will be retired and their replacement. If any end user has personalized order set(s) that are being retired, that version will also retire. Users will need to re-create personalized order sets based off the standardization.

Order Set Crosswalk

Please reference this Order Set Personalization Tipsheet to save your user preferences in the new order sets.

Submit a ServiceNow Order Set request if you would like to request an order set change or request to have a new one created. You can also reach out to ordersetreview@aspirus.org with any questions or concerns.

Greener Mowing at Aspirus Keweenaw

Aspirus Keweenaw invested in an electric lawn mower to help cut down on its carbon footprint.

The mower arrived this past winter when there was over 265 feet of snow on the ground. Once spring came, the snow melted and grass grew, the riding mower was put to work for lawn maintenance at Aspirus Keweenaw’s main campus and surrounding clinics.

“The new mower is environmentally friendly,” said Jason Bessner, Director of Facilities Management and Security for the UP Region. “Historically, gas-powered lawn equipment generated five percent of the air pollution in the United States each year. A gas-free mower eliminates the noise pollution, gasoline smell and potential contamination from hazards like spilled gases and oils that are associated with gas mowers. Our new electric mower has zero CO emissions.”

How to send email securely

LiquidFiles in Outlook

To protect the privacy of an email being sent to a recipient outside of Aspirus, you need to take steps to send it securely. Malicious actors try to intercept email because it may contain sensitive and valuable information. Sending email securely means sending it in a way that enables only the recipient to read its contents. At Aspirus there are two options for sending email securely: using LiquidFiles in Outlook or including “Secure:” in the email subject.

Using LiquidFiles in Outlook (pictured)

In the LiquidFiles Outlook menu, click “Secure Attach.” This will cause the email, including attached files, to be sent using LiquidFiles. Recipients of the email will be required to log in to a secure server to read the content of the email and access attachments.

Including “Secure:” in the Email Subject

An alternative option to LiquidFiles is to simply type “Secure:” in the subject line of the email without quotations. This will only work when sending email to addresses outside of Aspirus.
