What is your position at Borton Overseas?
Scandinavia Specialist

What is your background?
What makes you a Scandinavia Specialist?
I spent 8 summers studying Norwegian language and culture at Skogfjorden summer camp and three summers working in the kitchen at the Finnish, Danish, and Swedish language camps. In college, I was a Nordic Studies major, which included a semester in Norway and a J-term studying religion in Northern Europe. Since my first trip to Norway when I was seven, I have been connected to my Scandinavian heritage. This job is the perfect way to make those interests into a career!

What is your favorite thing to do on vacation?
I love to walk around cities and eat or have a coffee at sidewalk cafés.

What are you most looking forward to this
Summer?
I am most looking forward to spending time outside biking and walking all over Minneapolis.

What is your favorite vacation destination a nd why?
The Norwegian fjords are my favorite place(s). Living in the Midwest I can appreciate our lovely scenery, but the fjords are really breathtaking comparatively.

What travel tips do you have for our readers?
The best way to pack is to leave yourself plenty of time for planning. You will want to unpack everything and reevaluate your choices at least once, if not twice or three times (like me!).
Anything else?
My favorite trips to plan are for clients who have a basic idea of what they want to do, but are open to new ideas and options. Using my experience in Scandinavian travel and the clients' interests and heritage, we can work together to make an original and exciting itinerary.

Our Gift Certificates can be customized to any occasion and are available in any denomination.

Just like you, they like having their picture taken when they travel so they can remember their journeys. We encourage you to take their photo in your favorite place(s) and send it back to the Destination Specialist that planned your trip. You can also post the pictures on Facebook and Instagram - just be sure to include the #travelingvikings and their location in the post so we can follow along!

Your photos will be added to an online photo album of all Ingrid and Magnus' adventures:

Do you like your vacations to be a little more active? Then a bicycle tour could be just the thing for you! This summer, pedal your way through Denmark on one of our exciting tours by bike! Biking is a popular method of transportation in Denmark and one of the best ways to really experience the beautiful Danish countryside. We have several biking itineraries to choose from and each will allow you to explore Denmark at your own pace. Your luggage will be transferred to your hotel separately, so all you have to bring with you is some water, your camera and sunscreen! With a vast array of well-maintained bike paths to choose from, you can spend a day, or even a week with the wind in your hair, salt on your skin, surrounded by the fairytale views of Denmark's idyllic rural life. After you have worked up a sweat, you can hit one of the many sandy beaches for a refreshing swim!

Botswana's Okavango Delta will see near record water levels this year due to healthy rains feeding the world's largest inland delta. What this means for safari-goers is abundant food and water to sustain a bevy of beasts and birds through this coming year. If you've been on the fence about experiencing safari in Botswana - this is a GREAT year to make this dream a reality!!
