Special City Commission Meeting - November 9, 2021 at 5:30 PM
Analysis of Current Commission Districts

The City of Cooper City has entered into an agreement with Florida Atlantic University's John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government to analyze the City's current districts and potentially prepare redistricting plans.

The purpose of the November 9 Special City Commission Meeting is to evaluate the current Commission Districts based on 2020 Census data and provide a report to the City Commission.

This meeting will also provide the public with an opportunity to share input and opinions.

FAU's team will participate in this public meeting to discuss the analysis of current districts and next steps.

If redistricting is deemed necessary, the FAU team will create redistricting options and present those options at a later meeting.

In an upcoming Cooper City Spotlight, we will share Cooper City resident Richard Kershen's story, a Navy diver who would become a gunboat captain navigating the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War. All before returning to South Florida and starting a career that most would never imagine.

If you are a veteran living in Cooper City, and would like to share your story, please send us an email at Community@CooperCityFL.org.
