Commercial Vehicles, Boats, RVs, Trailers
Cooper City’s code enforcement inspectors take on the key responsibility of carrying out the directive to enforce the City’s Code of Ordinances. This section provides information on some of the most common code violations, while also providing information that helps keep Cooper City beautiful.

One of the most common violations is the parking of a commercial vehicle, RV, boat, or trailer in a manner that does not comply with City Code. Residents can park commercial vehicles, RVs, boats and trailers within their property, but the City Code places certain requirements. For example, the Code calls for these types of vehicles to be parked behind a privacy fence and also places restrictions on the height of these vehicles.

Furthermore, upon spotting a commercial vehicle, RV, boat, or trailer, on a driveway, Code Inspectors provide residents with 36 hours to wash, unload, or take care of what needs to be done with respect to the aforementioned vehicles. However, they must be parked within a driveway during those 36 hours.
Violation: Hitched boat and trailer parked on a driveway. (Upon being spotted, resident would have 36 hours to take corrective action)
Violation: Trailer parked on a driveway. (Upon being spotted, resident would have 36 hours to take corrective action)
No owner or person having the use of a commercial vehicle, recreational vehicle, boat or any type of trailer shall park, store or keep the vehicle or boat or any type of trailer for any period of time in the public street, public right-of-way... Read the full code and learn about the requirements for compliance.

We understand there are many components to this City Code. If you have any questions, please contact our Code Enforcement team.
