Beating the Odds Foundation

On March 5th, Keller Engineers presented a check to Beating the Odds Foundation for their Student Success Program, which inspires students to overcome obstacles, discover their potential, and reach goals they never knew were possible.

Keller Engineers believes so strongly in giving back, that it is even included in our Vision Statement. We are so glad to have the opportunity to give back to organizations like Beating the Odds Foundation and the work they do to empower students.

NatureWorksPark

April is National Landscape Architecture Month and we'd like to feature one of our Landscape Architect's favorite projects - NatureWorksPark located in Hollidaysburg, PA!

In 2012, the Blair County Conservation District purchased a 15-acre tract of land in Hollidaysburg, PA and began planning Blair County’s first environmental specific outdoor education and recreation area.

NatureWorksPark is located in the floodplain of the Beaverdam Branch of the Juniata River and adjacent to Exceptional Value Wetlands. The park design contains accessible walking paths, a man-made wetland with boardwalk, a pavilion for 100 people, a pavilion for 30 people, numerous rain gardens for stormwater management, a unique boulder amphitheater classroom, a pollinator garden, and numerous education signs.

Keller Engineers’ responsibilities included completing the design plans, stormwater management calculations, erosion and sedimentation control permitting, NPDES permitting, Chapter 106 permitting, rezoning hearing, building permit applications, land development approvals through Hollidaysburg Borough, bidding, and construction management and inspection. Keller Engineers also assisted with the DCNR grant application and administration.

Completion Date: December 2018

Trucks on Local Roads

The Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (PSAB) is hosting a webinar about truck traffic on local roads. More information and a link to sign up are below:

April 24, 2024

12:00pm - 1:00pm

PSAB Member Rate: FREE

Non-Member Rate: $30

Truck traffic on local roads is a difficult balancing act for many municipalities in Pennsylvania. While trucks need access to pick-up and deliver the goods that are necessary for everyday life and the economy, many local roads are not suitable for truck travel. Furthermore, recent changes to State Laws in Act 31 of 2018 add more complications. This webinar will review current state laws and regulations on truck access and restrictions, discuss the traffic study requirements and options for restricting truck traffic and examine real local truck traffic issues, problems, and solutions.
