2023 Recap Video

Glendale Valley Project

Keller Engineers' water/wastewater team designed a 500,000 GPD extended aeration wastewater treatment facility, pumping facilities, 160,000 LF wastewater mains, and associated appurtenances to serve existing customers and the Glendale Yearound Development. The project also included waterline extensions to the Beaver Valley and Flinton areas of White Township.

A Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Control System was originally installed with the pump stations. In 2020 the system was upgraded to operate and monitor various controls at the wastewater treatment facility, including activation by use of dissolved oxygen probes.

The Keller team provided assistance with project funding, and was responsible for the design, bid process and construction coordination/inspection.

Completion Date: 2013 & 2020

Customers Served: 860

Project Manager: Dan Carbaugh, PE

Applying for Grants

Applying for grants can be a crucial step in securing funding for various borough projects. A good idea is to understand the grant-making organizations. Learn about the goals, priorities, and values of the organization and tailor your proposal to align with their mission and objectives. In addition, look for grant opportunities which match your project's focus.

For example, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is an excellent source for the arts and education; the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation's focus is healthcare; Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, a Keep America Affiliate, environmental issues. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development are also great sources of funding for community projects.

You can search for grants through online databases, government agencies, private foundations, and non-profit organizations. Consider searching websites such as Grants.gov or Pennsylvania.grantwatch.com.
