Keller Engineers, along with four other participating firms, held internal competitions, hosted activities, and accepted donations to raise funds for those in our community who are less fortunate. Keller Engineers and the other
participating firms came together on Friday, February 23rd to present their checks to the American Rescue Workers. This year, Keller Engineers raised a total of $1,600.

Carroll Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant | |
On February 2nd, Carroll Valley Borough officials, state officials, and other dignitaries, came together for a Groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the much anticipated construction of a new 0.250 MGD sequencing batch reactor wastewater treatment plant, including a screening unit, UV disinfection, an operations/laboratory building, and demolition of the existing plant. Keller Engineers' services include surveying, planning, design, permitting, bidding, construction management, and inspection.
Project Uniqueness/Challenges: The project must be constructed on an extremely limited property while maintaining full operation of the existing plant.

Safe Streets and Roads for All Grants Available
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration is accepting applications for the FY2024 round of funding under the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program. This program was created under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to support local initiatives to prevent transportation-related death and serious injury on roads and streets.
Municipalities are eligible to apply for projects supporting planning, infrastructure, behavioral, and operational initiatives to prevent death and serious injury on roads and streets involving all roadway users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation users, motorists, and commercial vehicle operators.
The SS4A program provides funding for two types of grants:
-
Planning and Demonstration Grants to develop, complete, or update a comprehensive safety action plan, a well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries in a locality. Planning and Demonstration Grants have three application deadlines: April 4, May 16, and August 29, 2024. Following each deadline, USDOT will review applications received to date.
-
Implementation Grants to implement strategies or projects, including construction projects, consistent with an existing Action Plan. The Implementation Grants application deadline is May 16, 2024.
For more information, including the notice of funding, how to apply, frequently asked questions, and webinars, visit the SS4A Program Page on USDOT’s website.
