Tuesday evening, I hopped in my car and headed to MBS to check out the courtyard progress. When I turned south onto Airline Highway, right in front of me was huge double rainbow. By the time I made it to MBS, one of the rainbows had disappeared, but one remained right over our campus.
We cannot talk about a rainbow without thinking of Noah’s ark. It is believed that a “rainbow is a sign from God that we are not forgotten”. In the story of Noah’s ark, after God appeared before Noah following the great flood, there was a beautiful rainbow in the sky signifying his Glory and Power as well as His Covenant to His people (Genesis 9:13). The rainbow is also mentioned in Ezekial 1:26, where its colors are compared to the glory and power of God.
I was touched by this rainbow, sent on the eve of our first day of school. God sent it to us, His MBS faithful, to remind us that He is with us now, and will remain with us throughout this school year. He truly is a God of glory and power. Here’s to a great year.
God Bless,
Cheri M. Gioe, Principal
