A Message from Mrs. Gioe
Our school counselor, has this quote on the wall of her office; “Equal is everyone getting the same thing. Fair is everyone getting what they need to succeed. We will always try to be fair but it won’t always feel equal.” I’ve thought about these words often and how fair and equal apply to all facets of our lives. Consider the picture below. If one of the animals had to climb the tree, which one would win? If they had an eating contest which one would win? If they had a swimming contest, which one would win? If they had a contest to see who could survive in the Antarctic, which one would win? You get the picture? God gave us all different gifts and talents. Our gifts and talents make us who we are. Since we are cultivating kindness at MBS this year, let’s celebrate our differences. After all, in God’s eyes we are all equal and there’s Grace and fairness in that!
In Christ,
Cheri Gioe

Any student with an allergy requiring an Epi-Pen must have a Medication Form filled out by the child’s pediatrician, an up to date Epi-Pen and a box for the Epi-Pen with a prescription label with the child’s name on it. I cannot give the student’s teacher their Epi-Pen and cannot administer the Epi-Pen without these things. The same goes for any other medication that is being kept at school such as Benadryl, inhalers, prescription medications, etc.
Each student was sent home with a Student Diagnosis Form. I need this as soon as possible to ensure your child is well taken care of while at school. If there is anything I need to know about the care of your child please feel free to contact me at afox@mbsbr.org.
